Got razor bumps? Calm the war between razor and skin!

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

If you experience those little, nasty, red post-shave bumps, we have some simple solutions for you.   Actually, the medical term for those little monsters is PFB (pseudofolliculitis barbae) or as they are more commonly called, ingrown hairs or razor burn. These bumps and/or skin irritation are a result of shaving, waxing, and other types of hair removal.

For the guys, this condition usually occurs on the neck after shaving.  An easy way to reduce this problem is by shaving everyday.  Guys always want a nice smooth shave and think if they let their hair grow a little longer and then shave it, they will get a “closer shave”.  The reality is that when the razor pulls on the hair, the follicle becomes irritated and inflammation results.  Another hint for reducing PFB is to use an electric razor rather than a straight edged razor.  This type of shave reduces the irritation and thus, the PFB.

For girls, many experience post-shave razor bumps at the bikini line.  Because there is the added irritation of clothing rubbing on the already irritated skin, special care should be taken to avoid infection of the skin in this area.

For both guys and girls there is a simple solution that will calm the war between razor and skin!  Kairos Acne Care Solution’s Oil-Reducing/Pore Perfecting Treatment. This anti-inflammatory solution contains both antibacterial and exfoliating properties that will rid your skin of those irritating and unsightly bumps.  Applying this solution to the shaved area after shaving will give your skin a clean, smooth and bump-less finish!
